Worthington Baptist Christian
Academy
Worthington Baptist
Christian Academy,
a ministry of Worthington Baptist Church, was started in 1976 under
Pastor Donald
Lumeree. Mr. Fennell served as the Academy's first principal. Many
other
church members have served as monitors. supervisors and volunteers.
For thirty years the
Academy has been
educating young people using the Accelerated Christian Education
program. The
program is an individualized course of study designed to meet a
student's specific learning
capabilities. It incorporates Scripture, Godly character traits, and
wisdom principles
along with the traditional subjects of Math, English, Social Studies,
Science, and
elective courses. High School students are also required to take Bible
courses such as
New Testament Survey, Old Testament Survey, Life of Christ, or
Successful Living, a
study of Proverbs.
Graduates of the
Academy have gone on
to such fields as business, nursing, education, and pre-law, as well as
being employed
by local businesses. Some are also serving the Lord in local churches
as teachers,
song leaders, church officers, and providing special music.
NOTICE: After the 2009/2010 school year has been completed, the academy will be closed.
